Photonics - Option
Photonics is a field that crosses the boundaries of Physics and Electrical Engineering. EP offers the Photonics Option with either the Applied Physics or Electrical and Computer Engineering programs. Students complete a combination of courses selected from both disciplines, assisted by advisors who help students structure a program that meets their goals. Applied Physics courses cover optics principles, applications and design. Electrical Engineering courses cover a range of applications, including lasers, fiber-optic communications, and high-speed electronics and optoelectronics.
