Laboratory measurements are critical to verifying the performance of RF and Microwave components, circuits, and subsystems. This course will provide the theory and techniques needed to make informed test decisions and to understand and minimize sources of error in measurements. Equipment deep dives will be conducted to improve understanding of how modern test equipment works. In-class laboratory assignments will be used to determine key RF/Microwave figures of merit, such as S-parameters, spectral content, RF power, noise figure, and phase noise. Students will be able to design, fabricate, and test their own microwave circuit/subsystem as part of the course.
