Kurt Stein is originally from Little Rock Arkansas. Stein served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during Operation Iraqi Freedom and, subsequently, returned to the U.S. and attended graduate school at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas where he earned a MS and PhD in Computational and Applied Mathematics.
Since 2012, Stein has worked at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory as an analyst and he lives in Maryland with his wife, Abby, and his sons, Maximilian and August.
