The program, which will be offered to instructors in JHU’s Engineering for Professionals part-time and online programs, will focus on increasing student engagement and learning through pedagogical approaches, including active learning and problem-based learning combined with technology. The program will model best practices in online, face-to-face, and blended learning and will equip faculty fellows with the strategies and tools they need to be highly effective instructors in the rapidly evolving environment of higher education. While Faculty Forward is intended for instructors in Johns Hopkins postgraduate engineering programs, the model will be designed so that it can serve as a blueprint for programs in other university divisions.
