Hopkins Information Technology Services (HITS) operates three shared resource computer systems: a Silicon Graphics Challenge-L server with UNIX (JHUNIX), a DEC ALPHA 2000 with Open VMS (JHUVMS), and another SGI Challenge-L which is optimized for intensive statistical and mathematical applications (APSERV1). In addition, students may use laboratories containing workstations, personal computers, and terminals with access to the servers.
