Dr. Matthew (Matt) Montoya is a mentor-advisor, instructor, researcher, and professor at The Johns Hopkins University in the Systems Engineering, Healthcare Systems Engineering, and Lifelong Learning programs and is a recipient of both the JHU Distinguished and Outstanding Instructor Awards. For 35 years Dr. Montoya was also a principal chief engineer/executive portfolio director for The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory where he was responsible for the strategic and technical direction for several/multi-million/billion-dollar complex systems pertaining to national and homeland security and healthcare delivery. Dr. Montoya received his BS in engineering physics/mathematics from Colorado State University, his MSs in applied mathematics and systems engineering from The Johns Hopkins University, an MBA from Loyola University of Maryland, an MPH from Dartmouth College, and a Doctorate of Engineering in Systems Engineering/Operations Research from The George Washington University.
