Mr. Dag Hestnes
Dag Hestnes earned his BS degree in Computer Science from the University of Maryland and his MS in Technical Management from The Johns Hopkins University Whiting School of Engineering. He has 20 years of experience in Computer Science, working as a SW engineer, Storage Systems Architect, and Manager of Testing and Information Assurance organizations. His experience is based on his time in private industry as well as with the U.S. Government. His expertise is in SW design, integration, storage system architecture and implementation, acquisitions, program management, contract management, information assurance and managing highly technical organizations.
Currently Mr. Hestnes is the manager of a Security Controls Assessment organization at DoD, where his responsibilities include personnel management, contract management, budget management, process improvement, and directing resources to meet an ever increasing number of high priority tasks. He is particularly skilled at building teams from various organizations and getting delayed, large, complex projects to meet schedule and delivery. Prior to joining DoD, he was employed at Lockheed Martin Space Mission Systems for several years, where he worked on systems such as the Hubble Space Telescope, Air Traffic Control Systems, and the EOSDIS , an environmental data storage and distribution system.
