Personal Bio

Sean McGervey is a systems engineer at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) where he is currently leading efforts in support of the Navy’s systems engineering transformation. McGervey previously worked as the lead architect on a major defense acquisition program (ACAT-1) for the United States Navy and founded the APL Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Community of Practice in which he actively teaches. 

Prior to joining APL, he worked in the systems engineering department at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Baltimore, Maryland for 15 years. While there, he practiced MBSE on multiple programs and founded the Northrop Grumman Corporate Model-Based Engineering (MBE) Community of Practice.
