Personal Bio

Mike is a Health Systems Engineer in the Next Generation Care Delivery Group of APL’s Asymmetric Opertions Sector. In addition to his technical contributions, he supervises the Health Systems Implementation section, which focuses on implementing innovative care models in various clinical settings. He is currently a project manager in the National Health Mission Area support efforts ranging from clinical decision support software development, implementing new care models within the Military Health System, and modeling system specification for autonomous, interoperable care systems. Prior to coming to APL, he served as an Engineer Officer in the United States Army. In 2007, he deployed to Iraq as a platoon leader where his mission was to improve quality of life at remote outposts and repair main supply routes compromised by improvised explosive devices. In 2010, he deployed to Afghanistan as the battalion logistics officer where his mission was to build the infrastructure required for NATO forces to push further in to enemy-controlled territory.
