Personal Bio

Mohammad Rafiei obtained his PhD in civil engineering from Ohio State University 2016. Since then, he has worked as a postdoc and as research scientist faculty members in the fields of civil, mechanical, and materials engineering and medicine in different departments at the Ohio State University and Johns Hopkins University. Rafiei’s research focuses on advances in computer technology, such as advanced deep learning techniques, to bring automation to different areas of engineering and medicine. He has developed novel multi-paradigm computational models for automated: vibration-based health assessment of structures; materials simulations, designs, and characterizations; early warning models; construction estimation systems, and adoptive therapeutic interventions after chronic stroke.
