Stanislaw E. Tarchalski is a retired senior executive with more than 30 years of progressive responsibility and experience in leading strategic business planning and execution, large/complex program development and management, systems engineering and technical leadership, and organizational transformation in businesses and projects ranging from a $100M entrepreneurial startup to an over $3B annual revenue portfolio of projects.
In his more than 30 years at IBM, he worked with clients in government (defense, intel. and civilian), aerospace, automotive, electronics, communications, and the architecture/engineering/constructions industries across North America, Europe, and Asia. He was a key leader of R&D transformation during the turnaround of IBM in the mid-1990s.
Following his years at IBM, Tarchalski served for three years as the director of strategy and uutreach for the Systems Engineering Research Center (SERC), a university-affiliated research center comprising 20 collaborating universities focused on innovation and improvement in systems engineering. Today, Tarchalski teaches courses in program management, systems engineering, leadership, and governance and consults with clients in the complex systems integration business. Tarchalski received a BS in engineering with a focus on electrical engineering and computer science from Rutgers University, an MS in technical management from Johns Hopkins University, and has Executive Education certificates from Harvard Business School and Stanford University in business leadership and innovation. He has authored numerous technical papers on system engineering, program management and computer-integrated manufacturing, and has presented frequently at various academic and industry forums. Tarchalski also served on the Board of Directors of STEP/PDES, a product standards organization.
