Mr. Ed Mitchell
Mr. Mitchell has very diversified professional background with more than 35 years of experience primarily from workforce and management responsibilities for manufacturing and quality and mission assurance within small and mid-size organizations. His recent experience also includes program management of multi-million dollar NASA HQ and NASA GSFC mission assurance support programs. His core experience has been through the development, execution, and management of quality and mission assurance areas including quality management systems, quality engineering, auditing, inspection and testing operations, and supply chain quality. He currently holds a key supervisory role for the JHU/APL Safety and Mission Assurance Group supporting a wide variety of technical projects. He is also responsible for the Space Sector supplier management program as well as the lab-wide Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Control program. Mr. Mitchell holds an MS in Technical Management from the Johns Hopkins University - Whiting School of Engineering, a BS in Business Management from the University of Baltimore, and a Certificate in Quality Management and Technology from the Community College of Baltimore County. Mr. Mitchell is also an active member of the NASA Joint Audit Planning Committee and the NASA Quality Leadership Forum. He is also a committee member for the annual Conference on Quality in the Space and Defense Industry sponsored by the American Society for Quality.
