Sara Kouroupis is currently a master's student in our Electrical and Computer Engineering program and also a staff member in the space department at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory.
But before joining APL in June of 2015, she was a top-ranked student at Auburn University where she earned her bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, and excelled in numerous leadership activities on and off campus.
Because of her many accomplishments at Auburn, Kouroupis was recently named the Alton B. Zerby and Carl T. Koerner Outstanding Electrical and Computer Engineering Student for 2015 by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
According to IEEE, the award
recognizes outstanding scholastic excellence and high moral character, coupled with demonstrated exemplary service to classmates, university, community, and country.
Kouroupis received the well-deserved award on Monday night at the 2016 ECEDHA Annual Conference in La Jolla, California.
