This course provides a deep dive into the discipline of systems architecting by exploring systems engineering from the perspective of the systems architect. Students will learn how to define, analyze, and communicate architectures that address complex stakeholder needs, operational goals, and engineering constraints. Emphasis is placed on the development of architecture artifacts—including requirements, and functional, logical, physical, and interface models—as well as the application of a variety of architecture analysis tools and techniques. Students will gain the skills to not only construct architectures, but also to reason about them, manage their evolution, and ensure coherence across architecture views throughout the system development lifecycle.
