Dr. Benjamin “Duke” Dow

Dr. Dow has been a JHU/EP Instructorsince 2021.  He has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Valparaiso University, a Master of Science in Nuclear Engineering from the University of New Mexico, and a PhD in Nuclear Engineering from Purdue University.  He also has an Masters in Business Administration from Lynchburg College.

 Dr. Dow worked for Babcok & Wilcox Co. (now Framatome) as a Nuclear Fuels Engineer and a Product Manager from 1973 to 1978.  He then worked for Arkansas Power & Light Co. (now Entergy) as the Nuclear Fuel Manager and then Nuclear Services Manager from 1978 until 1985.  He then started an Engineering Management consulting company (EMS) and consulted throughout the United States and Europe for over fifteen years.  Dr Dow joined the Engineering Management and Systems Engineering Department at the Missouri University of Science & Technology in 2001.  He taught ten different courses and developed a four course Project Management Certificate Program.  From 2013 to 2015 Dr. Dow and his wife taught in the Business Administration Department of Gulf University of Sciene & Technology in Kuwait.  Since 2015 Dr. Dow has taught part time at Missouri University of Science & Technology the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, the University of Tennessee-Chatanooga, and Penn State University. Dr. Dow has been the Project Manager on number of large projects.

Dr. Dow has authoried two book chapters and publised over twenty-five papers.  He is a Professinal Engineer (PE) and a Project Management Professional (PMP).  Dr. Dow enjoys playing tennis and golf and  spending time with his two children and three grandsons.
