Jennifer L. Sample, PhD, is distinguished research scientist in the defense and intelligence community. She is Director of Research at Accenture Federal Services and previously was a Program Area Manager and Principal Scientist in the Research and Exploratory Development Department at Johns Hopkins University’s Applied Physics Laboratory. Since 2004, Sample has served as an instructor in Johns Hopkins University’s Engineering for Professionals program.
Over the past fifteen years, Sample has received several awards for her inventions and for her research, and she has demonstrated strength in leading people and programs. She has contributed to several books, including the Handbook of Space Engineering, Archaeology, and Heritage, and Systems Engineering for Microscale and Nanoscale Technologies, and she also has published many papers and patents. Sample received her B.S. in Chemistry from Pennsylvania State University, her PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of California, Los Angeles and MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
