Michael McShea is a Chief Scientist for the Health and Human-Machine Systems Group at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. He has worked with the Military Health System, Johns Hopkins Medicine, and civilian federal agencies on population health, precision health, telehealth, clinical decision support, and AI initiatives. Current projects including deploying AI to support point of care medical readiness determination for Navy Medicine. From 2016 to 2024 Mr. McShea served on the CareFirst BCBS Board of Directors, which included oversight of venture and innovation arm HealthWorx. Prior to APL, Mr. McShea was a product executive at Philips Healthcare, where he managed global healthcare technology portfolios including the eICU Tele Critical Care platform.  Before Philips, he worked in call center, aerospace, financial services, and aviation industries.
