Shane Lani received his PhD and MS in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, a BS in Engineering Science from Pennsylvania State University, and a BS in Mathematics from Pennsylvania State University. He was an acoustic research engineer at The Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab (JHU/APL), and a Program Officer at the Office of Naval Research (ONR) prior to his current position at JHU/APL as a scientist with a focus on Anti-Submarine Warfare technologies. His research interests include antisubmarine warfare technologies, sensor design, acoustic testing and evaluation, passive acoustic imaging, metamaterials, and acoustic signal processing.
