Johns Hopkins University’s Systems Engineering MSE program, offered through Engineering for Professionals (EP), has been reaccredited by ABET’s Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC).
This reaffirms the program’s excellence in preparing graduates for complex challenges in both industry and government. ABET’s globally recognized accreditation ensures the program meets rigorous standards in curriculum, faculty qualifications, facilities, and institutional support.
The peer-reviewed reaccreditation process, conducted by industry experts, government professionals, and academics, validates the program’s ability to produce leaders in rapidly evolving technical fields.
“Receiving ABET reaccreditation underscores our program’s commitment to delivering a top-tier systems engineering education. This achievement is a testament to the dedication of our faculty and staff, as well as the hard work of our students. We are proud to continue offering a curriculum that equips our students with the skills needed to be successful systems engineers working on all phases of today’s complex systems,” said Andrew Merkle, chair of the Systems Engineering program.
The program’s accreditation is valid through September 30, 2030, with a comprehensive review scheduled in 2029.
Johns Hopkins Engineering for Professionals offers one of the country’s largest and most comprehensive part-time online systems engineering programs. The program features faculty who are leading practitioners in their fields, many of whom are associated with the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) and the Whiting School of Engineering. The curriculum focuses on modern engineering principles and practices, with core courses in software systems engineering, system design and integration, and test and evaluation, among others.
