Thomas Byrd, an instructor in the Johns Hopkins Engineering for Professional’s computer science program, has been appointed to CyberMaryland’s board of directors by Maryland Governor Wes Moore.

Founded in 2010, CyberMaryland is a public-private partnership that works to strengthen cybersecurity at the state and national levels. Members partner with federal, state, and local government agencies, as well as private organizations, to prioritize cybersecurity initiatives. The board comprises leaders and experts across key sectors, including finance, education, and government. Together, they guide and support efforts to advance sound cybersecurity policies.

Byrd is vice president and senior manager of cybersecurity at T. Rowe Price, where he integrates security controls and develops risk mitigation programs—particularly in the areas of fraud and cybersecurity.
