Dr. Santhanam is an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine, Biomedical Engineering, and Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. She received her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Her highly translational research focuses on cardiovascular disease mechanisms and vascular biomechanics. Her particular interests include vascular matrix remodeling, cell-matrix interactions, vascular stiffening, and vascular smooth muscle cell stiffening and dysfunction.
