Courses by Focus Area

A focus area is not required for this program and it does not appear as an official designation on a student’s transcript or diploma. Rather, the focus area is provided as a tool to aid students in planning their course schedules in preparation to enter a specific field within civil engineering after graduation.

The Structural Engineering focus area was designed by the Civil Engineering Program Committee to prepare students for careers in structural engineering. Students who do not identify with structural engineering may work with their advisor to select a broad yet cohesive group of courses to make up a general program of study in Civil Engineering (see above).
